International Audio & Light Exhibition UKM (INTALEX) 2016
Bangi, Selangor – Hundreds of visitors from various industry and courses visited UKM’s annual International Audio & Light Exhibition on the 14 to 15th April 2016. For those who are not familiar with Intalex, it is an exhibition that serves as a platform for audio and lighting companies to showcase the latest products and technologies to the public or industry players. In this year’s exhibition, Acoustic & Lighting System (A&L) participated and brought their latest audio and lighting products to the exhibition. “We saw the exhibition as an opportunity to expand our audience, therefore we decided to open a booth here in University Kebangsaan Malaysia,” suggested Rain, A&L’s Event Coordinator and Planner.
Aside from showcasing products, exhibitors were given the opportunity to organize seminars and workshops for visitors and university students alike. “It was definitely a plus point for the exhibition, with the growing demand for audio and lighting professionals in the world, there is a knowledge hunger in this industry as new products and technology emerge daily. Sharing our knowledge in the AV world, will definitely help the public gain a wider knowledge of the AV industry,” replied Rain. During the 2 days event, A&L organized a couple of seminars guided by A&L’s employees who were well experienced in the industry. Visitors and students were exposed to seminars on speakers, lights, projectors, microphone and professional camcorders. “It was an eye opening for me as I learnt about the different types of lighting fixtures and the colour effects,” one of the students pointed out. Another visitor mentioned that he learnt about the speakers SPL and the types of speakers.
Throughout the exhibition A&L displayed a variety of products ranging from lighting fixtures to smoke machines. One will not miss out the colourful well lighted sound console. Visitors who entered the main hall, will first take notice of the Solid State Logic Live Console 500. Placed at the front of house, the elegant machine took the limelight of the hall that day as it monitored the sound of the hall. In addition to the exhibition, A&L held a small gathering event allowing visitor to have an exclusive hands on experience with the console. A&L’s sound technicians professionally guided visitors on the console, explaining the functions of each knob and fader. Another attraction that visitors did not miss out was the latest edition to the RCF EVOX family. The RCF EVOX 12 took visitors in awe. This majestic active array speaker was able to throw sound in a long distance without distorting the sound. With the previous success of EVOX 5 and 8, RCF launched the EVOX 12 to provide customers a different option for bigger venues. In addition, A&L’s displayed a wide variety of Antari smoke machines, Alto TS Series, Sennheiser microphones, Clay Paky lighting fixtures, Nouvoled lighting fixtures, PR Lighting fixtures and RCF speaker monitors. Another product spotlight in the booth was none other than RCF M18 digital mixer. The versatile M18 controlled the booth speakers that night. “It was amazing how that small little mixer was able to monitor and control dozens of speakers,” responded one of the visitors. What’s even more interesting is all the effects and equalizers can be controlled via an iPad. “Highly convenient and easy to use,” were one of the positive comments given by visitors who tried out the M18 application.
Overall, the exhibition was an eye opening not only for the visitors but for the exhibitionist as well since they were able to share experiences and knowledge with one another.
